We are excited to be partnered with Lactation Network. This incredible organization helps moms and moms-to-be get the breastfeeding support they deserve, covered by their insurance.
The Lactation Network guarantees every mother a minimum of SIX 90-minute, in-home lactation consultations with a registered IBCLC at NO out-of-pocket cost. They handle the paperwork and bill your insurance directly. This also covers prenatal consultations!
The insurances most commonly working with Lactation Network are Cigna PPO, Anthem PPO, and Blue Cross PPO.

When you have a consultation, you will be given a 14-page .pdf document titled New Benefits for Breastfeeding Moms: Facts and Tools to Understand Your Coverage under the Health Care Law Toolkit by The National Women's Law Center. According to the Affordable Care Act, breastfeeding support is a mother's right, and this document will provide you with information you can use to talk with your insurance carrier.
If having to pay out of pocket, at the end of your consultation, you will be provided with a Superbill that you can submit to your insurance provider along with an out-of-network claim reimbursement request.
TRICARE will allow for certified labor doulas, lactation consultants, and lactation counselors – currently excluded as TRICARE-authorized provider types under the TRICARE benefit – to provide reimbursable care to TRICARE beneficiaries under its Childbirth and Breastfeeding Support Demonstration. This is a five-year demonstration that started on Jan. 1, 2022. Learn more at www.tricare-west.com
This means we can provide you with a Superbill after your consultation to try and seek reimbursement for your out-of-pocket expense.
